So, who was young Bede? Imagine a boy of seven, given to a monastery to be educated – that was Bede. He joined the Wearmouth-Jarrow monastery, where he found his calling . Under the guidance of the abbots, he learned Latin, Greek, and Hebrew, diving deep into religious and secular texts. By his early twenties, he was already a deacon, and at thirty, he became a priest . His thirst for knowledge and dedication to the Church set the stage for his incredible contributions to history and theology.
