On this day, November 27, we honor the Feast of the Miraculous Medal, a powerful sacramental given by the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Catherine Labouré during her apparitions in 1830.
The medal also known as the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, quickly became famous worldwide because of the countless miracles and graces experienced by those who wore it. Stories of healings, conversions, and protection spread rapidly, leading to its name: Miraculous Medal.
As Mary promised, those who wear it with faith and confidence will receive great graces. The medal is a reminder of salvation through Jesus Christ and a sign of the Virgin Mary’s love and desire to help. Catholics are encouraged to wear the medal with love and trust, not as a lucky charm.
“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!”
