As we come to the 𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐲 of our Footsteps of Fiat journey, we turn to 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥.
In the Upper Room, Mary gathered with the disciples in prayer, steadfastly awaiting the coming of the Holy Spirit. Her quiet and faithful presence reminds us that the journey of 𝐹𝑖𝑎𝑡 does not end with a single “𝑦𝑒𝑠.” It is a continual openness to God—a willingness to wait, to pray, to receive His grace, and to be sent forth in love.
For these final 20 minutes of our Novena, may we remain close to Mary and learn from her unwavering faith. May she lead us into a deeper relationship with Christ and prepare our hearts to welcome anew the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Today, as we bring our Novena to a close, let us look to Mary in the Upper Room—𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫, 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭.
May her maternal presence continue to accompany us long after these nine days have ended. And may the “Fiat” we have contemplated each day become our own—𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 “𝐲𝐞𝐬” 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞, 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐮𝐬.
Our Footsteps of Fiat may end with this Novena, but 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆𝒔.
United as one Bedan family, may we carry what we have received into our homes, our classrooms, our workplaces, and our communities—𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐞. 🙏🏻

May the Lord renew your strength and deepen your joy in your vocation. May He continue to use your priestly ministry to touch hearts, nurture faith, and inspire our community to live more faithfully the Benedictine values we hold dear.
As you continue this 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, may you always be reminded that your “yes” to God continues to bear fruit in the lives of so many.
May St. Benedict, St. Bede our Patron, and Our Lady of Monserrat accompany and protect you always, and may the Lord bless you with many more years of grace-filled and fruitful priestly ministry.

As we enter Day 8 of our journey, we contemplate Mary as the one who is 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧—a woman whose Fiat immediately became a movement of love.
Upon receiving the news of God’s plan, Mary “𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞” into the hill country to visit and assist her cousin Elizabeth. In her promptness to serve, Mary shows us that a true 𝐅𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝; 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞.
Her journey reminds us that saying “𝐲𝐞𝐬” 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 “𝐲𝐞𝐬” 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 —to set aside our comforts, notice those in need, and become a source of presence, comfort, and hope.
For these 20 minutes of prayer and reflection, may we learn from Mary’s joyful and generous charity, bringing Christ’s love to the “Elizabeths” in our own lives.
