Our fellow Alabang Bedan, David Jericho M. Naval of Class 2005 placed 2nd in the board exams for Certified Public
Accountants (CPA) garnering a 91.14 % average. Most major dailies reported that the Professional Regulation Commission
(PRC) announced last October 17, 2005 that 1,675 out of 6,651 examinees passed the licensure examinations given by the
Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, and Legaspi. And out of
the 1,675 successful examinees, Jericho Naval placed second spot.

Jericho Naval graduated Magna Cum Laude last March 2005 from the College of Arts & Sciences. A consistent
academic scholar and Accounting wizard, Naval has been bringing honor and recognition to San Beda Alabang through
the almost yearly trophies and medals he has brought home from various inter-collegiate competitions in Accountancy.
A true blooded Alabang Bedan, Jericho witnessed the historic transformation of this campus. In his graduation
commencement speech at the CAS, he recalled that he graduated from elementary at Benedictine Abbey School, finished
high school in St. Benedict College and is now a college graduate from San Beda College Alabang.
Shortly after graduation, Naval began his board review classes in CPAR located in Manila. From May 23 to September 19, 2005, he stayed in a dormitory where his daily routine include 5 hours of review class, 7 hours of self study and a few hours left for rest and sleep.
According to him, he has an unorthodox style in answering problems in exams: he solves the problems first before reading the entire question. Only after solving the problem will he read the question to find out his mistakes.
Fresh from his CPA board triumph, Jericho has recently joined Punong Bayan, Araullo & Associates for his industry practice and is a visiting junior lecturer here at the CAS handling a board subject every Saturdays. By choosing to teach here, Jericho wants to show gratitude to his alma mater by being of service to his fellow Bedans.
