In the
celebration of National Arts Month this February, the San Beda Alabang Museum as
a gift of love to the children this coming Valentine’s Day will bring the ANINO
SHADOWPLAY COLLECTIVE to perform their creative presentation using light and
shadows on February 13, 2009 at the Bellarmine Hall. The group which is headed
by prominent and respected contemporary visual artist Don Salubayba is a
credited artistic company which was endorsed as an alternative museum
educational program during the 1st National Children’s Museums Conference in
2008.
The ANINO Shadowplay Collective is a
group of multi-media artists dedicated to popularizing the art of shadow play
through live performances, videos, publications, and workshops. ANINO envisions
itself leading the development of contemporary shadow play in the Philippines by
creating relevant educational programs and by providing a venue for the
continuous development and exploration of the medium.

First Part
Introduction:
Introduction about shadow play and a sneak preview of few of our tools and
gadgets. An impromptu of shadow manipulation, shadow lessons and shadow game!
Alimango - A visual and musical play on the traditional Filipino
children's song, Pakitong-kitong.
Juan Picas - A modern shadowplay version of the heart-warming Bukidnon
tale about how people waste their talent and opportunities and how spirituality
and the realization of one's potential are rewarded.
Ang Pipit - Performed to Cynthia Alexender's arrangement of the traditional
Filipino song, this shadowplay gives the song a political twist. In children's
and mature versions.
Oyayi sa Mundo - This lovely, somber song written and composed by Noel
Cabangon serves as the backdrop to images of children rethinking and
re-inventing man's relationship with Mother Earth.
