The Activity
Program is based on the school objectives of developing the total
person. It is, therefore, supportive of the school's mission and
Academic Program and complements classroom instruction by translating
into actual life experiences the principles, truths and values acquired
in class.
A more detailed
description of the Activity Program is contained in a separate Student
Activity Manual which is distributed to all students.
The students are
encouraged to join club activities subject to the following
guidelines:
- Student activities
should not interfere with studies and should instead contribute to
the well-balanced formation of the students. Hence, the
organization of any activity prejudicial to the welfare of the
students, and the interest of the school is considered a serious
offense.
- Every student should
belong to only one interest club.
- Any group of students
who wishes to organize a club will fill up the proper form
following all the requirements subject to the recommendation of
the Prefect of Activities and approval of the Principal. .
- Student organizations
should follow regular channels of communication with authorities
namely: Moderators, Prefect of Activities, Prefect of Students,
Vice Principal and the Principal.
- If activities involve
money, a report should be submitted to the Prefect's Office in
triplicate form within 2 weeks after said activity. The original
will be returned to the person concerned.
- Homeroom Activities
should be endorsed by the Class Advisers, approved by the Prefect
of Activities/ Prefect of Students, noted by the Principal and
copy furnished the Vice Principal. Homeroom Presidents should fill
up the proper form following all the requirements of the Student
Activity Program. The administration prohibits unofficial homeroom
activities.
- Academic activities
should be endorsed by the Area Coordinator, approved by the Vice
Principal, noted by the Prefect of Students and Prefect of
Activities and copy furnished the Principal.
- Student activities are
usually done outside class hours. Extra-ordinary sessions that
necessitate calling students from classes must have the explicit
permission of the Vice Principal and/or Principal.
- The President of the organizations,
authorized by their respective moderators may schedule an activity
with the approval of the Prefect of Activities. They are
responsible for making the necessary arrangements such as: the use
of equipment and facilities, using the standard forms and
following SOP.
- ACTIVITY BAN: Seven
days (inclusive of Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) before the
start of the Quarterly Examinations, a ban on all student
activities shall be enforced. This is to ensure that all students
are given enough time to review for their examination.
- Appointments and
meetings with students of other schools or with resource persons
should be scheduled during day off. These should be held in the
Student Activity Center with the permission of the Prefect of
Activities.
- Students are encouraged
to participate in worthwhile activities outside of the school.
Invitations to such kind of activities are endorsed by the Prefect
of Activities to the respective moderators who recommend students
to act as official representatives of the school. The Prefect of
Activities notifies the Prefect of Students and the High School
Principal about the activity. The approval of the Principal is
necessary for participation in said activities.
- Out-of-campus,
overnight and weekend activities require parents' permission.
- Every quarter, the
members and officers of clubs are evaluated based on their
performance by their respective moderators.
- Clubs are also
evaluated every quarter by the moderator, officers of the club and
by the Prefect of Activities based on their performance.
