INSTITUTIONAL GUIDANCE & TESTING
CAS GUIDANCE CENTER
OUR SERVICES
Orientation
This service is conducted to familiarize the students not only with the physical set-up of the school but also
with the mission-vision, policies, rules and regulations, different academic programs, and support services to facilitate
easy adjustment.
Likewise, the Center gives orientation on the different guidance services during the CAS Faculty Orientation held usually
before the start of classes in the first semester. This will facilitate cooperation and better working relationship with
the faculty in addressing students’ needs and concerns.
Individual Inventory
This service endeavors to gather, maintain, and update all pertinent information about students’ personal and
family background, results of psychological tests, counseling record, academic and career concerns in a cumulative folder.
These data are helpful for the counselors in understanding the students more fully, thus enabling them to effectively
deliver the guidance services.
Counseling
As the heart of the guidance program and the very life of the activities of the Guidance Center, individual and
group counseling sessions are held to assist the students in understanding themselves, gaining deeper awareness of their
problems, making intelligent decisions, and helping them grow to become a self-sufficient, and mature person.
Counseling service may be done through:
- Individual Counseling
- Group Counseling
- Peer Counseling
- Follow-up Interview and/or Conference with People Concerned
Counseling could focus on:
- Academic
- Behavioral/Social/Emotional
- Career
- Other concerns/needs that would directly affect the clientele

difficulties.

All graduating students and students who leave the school are given the chance to express their thoughts and
sentiments about their college life as well as identifying the contributions of the school to their personal growth and
development; giving personal feedback and recommendation in certain areas of the school like curriculum, etc.; discussing
plans after graduating/leaving school; and gaining a clearer perspective of what they will do after graduation.
Educational & Occupational Information
Designed to provide the clientele with updated information on educational, social, and personal matters. Moreover,
this would assist specifically the students in developing goals and choices related to their educational and vocational
pursuits.
To fully realize this service, institutional guidance and career week are held were seminars, workshops, talks,
symposiums are organized and conducted to address the needs and concerns of the clientele.
Peer Counseling Program
