SCHOOL UNIFORMS
A. Daily Uniform
Levels 3 – 14 pupils
BOYS
- Short-sleeved, white cotton shirt (shirt-jac style) with the SBCA patch sewn on the pocket.
- Plain white sando (printed shirts are not allowed)
- Charcoal gray long pants (material is sold exclusively at the SBCA Bookstore)
- White socks
- Low-cut black leather shoes
GIRLS
- White blouse with the SBCA patch sewn on the pocket
- Plain white lady sando (under shirt)
- Red checkered skirt with the hemline three inches below the knee (material is sold
exclusively at the SBCA Bookstore)
- Short white socks slightly above the ankle
- Low-cut black leather shoes
SCHOOL UNIFORMS

B. P.E. Uniform (Levels 3-14 pupils)
- White SBCA P.E. t-shirt
- Red SBCA jogging pants
- White sports socks
- Rubber Shoes

The P.E. uniform must only be worn on days when physical education classes are held. Pupils should bring an extra P.E.
t-shirt or plain white t-shirt to enable them to change whenever necessary. The use of flying shoes (rubber shoes with
rollers) is not allowed for safety
C. Gala Uniform (N – L14 pupils)
BOYS
- Long-sleeved white polo shirt
- Plain white sando (printed shirts are not allowed)
- Red SBCA necktie (sold exclusively at the SBCA Bookstore)
- Black pants
- White socks
- Low-cut black leather shoes
GIRLS
- Prescribed long-sleeved white dress with the hemline three inches below the knee
(available at the SBCA Bookstore)
- Plain white chemise
- Short white socks
- Black shoes
The gala uniform should be worn during masses and on special occasions (First Communion, confirmation, Graduation, Feasts
and Solemnities).

Whenever a pupil fails to wear any part of the official uniform, he/she must obtain a permit from the Prefect of
Students Office. Such permit will be issued upon presentation of an explanatory note from the child’s parents.
Failure to comply with this, will be subject to disciplinary action.
PERSONAL GROOMING
All pupils are expected to observe the standards of good grooming.
- They are discouraged from wearing jewelries.
- No fancy hairstyle is allowed either.
- Hair bangs should not cover the eyebrows.
- For boys – hair should not touch the shirt collar nor cover the ears.
- For girls – hair should be neatly combed and tied, ribboned, or pinned in place.
- Earrings for boys, tongue piercing and multiple earrings for girls are not allowed.
PERSONAL SAFETY
- Proper use of the school ID is part of the security policy. It should therefore be worn at all
times while the student is inside the campus. Failure to comply with this, will be subject
to disciplinary action.
- All pupils should use the designated gates for entrance and exit.
- No pupil may leave the campus earlier then the regular dismissal time without a written
request from his parent/guardian. Departure permits are issued by the Prefect of Students.
- Pupils leaving the campus without permission or found guilty of cutting classes will be
subject to disciplinary action.
- Pupils should be fetched immediately after dismissal. They are only allowed to remain in the campus for thirty
minutes. Should it be unavoidable for a pupil to be picked up after the thirty-minute grace period, the
parents are required to submit to the Prefect of Students a note stating the reason for the child’s staying late
and the time he/she is supposed to go home. The guards are instructed to oversee the pupils inside the campus;
however, the school assumes no responsibility for any untoward incident that may happen beyond the allotted
time.
- Children taking public transportation by themselves may secure a temporary/permanent gate pass after their parents
have informed the Prefect of Students office through a letter.
- Only pupils with written parental permission are allowed to join educational trips and other off-campus activities.
- Upon enrolment, pupils must pay the Comprehensive Accident Insurance for the current school year.
ATTENDANCE
- Habitual absenteeism and tardiness are subject to disciplinary action.
- A pupil who has been absent for one or two days must present an excuse letter to the teachers.
Should he/she be absent for three or more days he/she must submit to the Prefect of Students a letter
signed by his/her parent or guardian with the dates of absence and the reason/s for such. In case of
absence due to a communicable disease, the pupil must secure first a clearance from the school physician
before he/she can be issued the permit to attend classes.
- A pupil who arrives after the opening exercises is considered late and must, therefore obtain an admission
slip from the Prefect of Students.
- Pupils are not allowed in school on Saturdays and Sundays unless expressly requested in writing and approved
by proper school authority.
- Appointments with doctors should be made on weekends and after class hours so that attendance in class are not
sacrificed.
- To avoid disruption of classroom activities, holding of birthday parties is not allowed. Loot bags, tokens
and cakes are likewise highly discouraged.
- Trips abroad within the school term must also be avoided.
- Cultural leaves may be granted based on the following conditions:
- the child’s academic performance should be satisfactory;
- the leave must not coincide with the examination period;
- the leave should not be longer than four weeks; and
- a written request must be filed with the Vice Principal at least two weeks before the
child’s scheduled departure.
- Pupils are responsible for work done in class during their absence. Make-up tests and extension of deadlines must be
arranged individually through the class adviser.
- Should absence for any reason other than illness become imperative, parents are asked to communicate with the Prefect
of Students.
CALL SLIP
No pupil shall leave the classroom/wing during class hours without permission from the
teacher. A pupil may only be called out of the classrooms/wings through a call slip. Only the following persons may
issue the Call Slip:
- Principal
- Vice Principal
- Prefect of Students
- Prefect of Activities
- Guidance Counselor
INDEPENDENCE
Every pupil should consider the accomplishment of his schoolwork and the care of his/her books and materials as a personal duty. He/she should also be trained to eat by himself/herself, thus, no parent or personal attendant is allowed to remain within the school campus. For exceptional cases, a written permission must be secured from the Prefect of Students.
HOMEWORK
Assignments are considered part of the pupil’s academic work. They are designed to reinforce daily lessons and to supplement class work. Each pupil is expected to do the homework for the day to the best of his ability.
The reminder notebook/diary should be regularly inspected and signed by the parents to make sure that assignments are accomplished and messages are received.
DISCIPLINE AND ORDER
- Pupils are expected to conduct themselves properly and observe proper behavior whether
inside or outside the campus.
- Should a teacher be absent or delayed on his way to class, pupils should begin
reading/reviewing their lessons in an orderly manner until a substitute teacher has arrived
in the classroom.
- Rowdy behavior, fighting, indecent/scandalous acts, vulgar manners, foul language and disruption of classes should be
avoided. Such acts when proven, may merit disciplinary action.
- Pupils either as individuals or as a group, must not use the name and seal of the school without proper authorization
from the school administrators.
ARTICLES PROHIBITED IN SCHOOL
- Articles which are morally offensive (obscene pictures, videotapes, undesirable reading materials) and hazardous to
others (weapons of any kind, sharp objects, firecrackers, cigarettes) should not be brought into the campus or
on the school bus.
- Rollerblades, skateboards, bicycles, toy guns, water pistols, radios, cassette recorder, mechanical and electronic
games, playing cards and sports equipment are likewise prohibited in the campus.
- Disciplinary action is imposed on violators of these prohibitions. In addition, prohibited articles brought into
the campus will be confiscated and returned at the end of the school year.
USE OF CELLPHONES
- As per Department of Education Order No. 70 S. 1999, “students of elementary and secondary schools are prohibited from
using cellular phones.” In view of this, all pupils are not allowed to use cellphones in the grade school
campus.
- Failure to comply with this would result to confiscation of cellphones. Furthermore, confiscated cellphones shall
be returned after parents/guardians have conferred with the Prefect of Students.
- The school is not liable in cases of losses and/or stealing of cellphones. Hence, the school and its authorities
shall not hold searches for any student or entity who shall report cases to this effect.
DRUGS
- Extreme disciplinary measure (exclusion from school or expulsion) shall be taken against pupils who receive, possess,
use, or pass on prohibited drugs.
- The DepEd directive prohibiting smoking on campus shall also apply.
RESPECT
- Every pupil is expected to respect school administrators, teachers, security guards and other school personnel.
- He/she greets school officials, faculty, staff and visitors.
- Pupils should treat each other with respect. They must avoid nasty jokes and refrain from doing anything that
may hurt others. Rough and dangerous games are not allowed inside the campus.
- Silence must be observed along the corridors and in the library so as not to disturb those who are studying.
CARE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY
Anybody who damages school property accidentally or intentionally is required to pay or replace it.
Pupils who are found guilty of intentionally damaging the properties of the school and of the other members
of the community are subject to disciplinary action.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE AND CORRESPONDENCE
Parents are welcome to confer with the teachers of their children. Appointments for such conferences, however, must be set through the Prefect of Students as teachers can only meet with parents during their free periods.
Letters may also be sent to parents and/or guardians occasionally. Reply slips of these letters must be signed and returned within two days to the class adviser.
All official correspondence between parents and faculty members should be coursed through the Prefect of Students or the Vice Principal.
SUSPENSION OF CLASSES
Classes are automatically cancelled whenever typhoon signal is raised over Metro Manila (signal # 1- Preschool; signal # 2 – L3-14), or a state of national emergency is declared. When the suspension of classes is announced after classes have started, pupils are kept in school until their parents, guardians or school bus drivers/conductors come and take them home.
In cases where rains are heavy, causing floods in certain areas, parents shall make the decision on whether to send their children to school or not, taking into consideration their health and safety.
READMISSION POLICIES
- A pupil who has satisfactorily passed all academic subjects and in conduct during the previous school year is
automatically promoted to the next level.
- Readmission of a pupil on probationary status, who has failed in any major subject and/or committed an offense,
shall be subject to the evaluation and recommendation of the Board of Discipline and/or the Board of Evaluators.
The members of the Board shall act on the merits and what shall be deemed most beneficial for the pupil.
- The school reserves the right to readmit or dismiss a pupil on the basis of his/her academic performance and/or
conduct performance during the previous school year.
