Educational Philosophy

Firmly rooted in the ideal of the Gospel and founded in the person of Jesus Christ, inspired by the life and teachings of St. Benedict, and guided by the contemporary findings on learning processes and human interaction, San Beda College Alabang professes the beliefs that:

EDUCATION is a life-long process of total human integration and formation in the spirit of acceptance, affirmation and sincere support.

MATURITY is growth in wholeness and holiness of a person in a process of actualizing his unique qualities, gifts and talents unfolded in an atmosphere of trust, profound concern and love; the ultimate end of education is to form persons of character distinguished by an intellect constantly in search of truth and strongly desirous of what is good, pleasing and perfect.

LEARNER is a child of God, created in His image and likeness, with a unique personality; he is not just an empty vessel to be filled out but an individual with inner resources and potentials dynamically actualized through encounters and exposures to varied experiences.

TEACHER is a facilitator who aids and strengthens the learning processes (of students) through openness and sensitivity to the different needs and abilities of the learner and by undertaking scholarly studies, updates learning techniques and seeks adequate measures to maximize the learner’s growth process.

SCHOOL is a community of loving persons interdependent on one another. At the core of its existence is the process of integral human formation maintained through a living encounter with culture, advancement of knowledge and the integration of proper human values.
