AN ENGLISH-SPEAKING CAMPUS

Peace!

Last April 24, 2007 the Administrators’ Council declared San Beda College Alabang an English-speaking campus. The chief reason is to enhance our students’ proficiency in the English language, especially in oral communication.

The following basic rules are hereby set down.

1. All students are required to speak in English inside the campus, except during Filipino class and Buwan ng Wika.

2. All faculty members, administrators, and office staff shall use English inside the campus, including the offices, as their medium of communication with the students.

3. Other school personnel (general utility service and security personnel) are encouraged to use English when they speak to students.

The department and office heads shall issue the Implementing Rules and Guidelines for their respective area of responsibility.

These rules shall take effect on July 2 (Monday), 2007 after one month of campus-wide campaign.

With every good wish, I am
